Criminal Investigation

The Elizabethtown Police Department is committed to the investigation of criminal activity within town. The Criminal Investigations Division, which is led by Division Commander Dwayne Cheshire, serves the residents of Elizabethtown by conducting investigations over a broad spectrum of criminal activities.

The Criminal Investigations Division is tasked with the investigation of crimes committed against persons and property; to include: homicides, assaults, sexual assaults, kidnappings, larceny, burglary, breaking and entering, arson, fraud, forgery, embezzlement, and extortion.

The Criminal Investigation Division not only specializes in investigations, but also the recovery of property and evidence, along with the processing of crime scenes.

The Criminal Investigation Division also provides both investigative and general support to other divisions of the Elizabethtown Police Department to accomplish departmental goals and objectives. The division also works closely with other local, state, and federal Law Enforcement agencies.
