The Elizabethtown Police Department provides many services to the citizens of Elizabethtown. These services include:
Residential Security Surveys
An officer will visit your home and evaluate the property from a security standpoint. The officer will make recommendations for improvements in security and will note areas in which security concerns are being addressed appropriately. They will also address ways to protect your valuables.
Business Security Surveys
Any business can contact the Elizabethtown Police Department and request an officer to perform a Security Survey. It is a simple process that allows the business owner and the officer to evaluate the business facility from the outside in. The officer will make recommendations for improvements in security and will note areas in which security concerns are being addressed appropriately. The officer is also available to speak with the employees of a business to discuss issues such as shoplifting, what to do is case of a robbery, fraudulent checks, etc.
Project Childsafe is a nationwide program whose purpose is to promote safe firearms handling and storage practices among all firearms owners through the distribution of safety education messages and free gun locking devices (firearms safety kits.) The free firearms gunlocks are available at the Elizabethtown Police Department and are available to all residents.
Drug Drop Off Program
The Elizabethtown Police Department was awarded a Drug Collection Unit on behalf of CVS/pharmacy and the Partnership for Drug-Free Kids. The drug collection unit will help the community to remove expired and unwanted prescription drugs from households where they can otherwise become a source for drug abuse or diversion. This drug collection unit will become a useful and important tool for the Elizabethtown Police Department's fight against prescription drug abuse in our community. The Drop Off Box is located in the Police Department lobby. Please see the notice below for more information.
