Public Notice: State of Emergency In Effect -  Town Of Elizabethtown  News Release January 30-2026    The Town of Elizabethtown has declared a State of Emergency effective January 30th,  2026 at 5 PM due to winter weather conditions.   This declaration helps the Town coordinate resources and respond as needed to changing conditions.  Residents are encouraged to use caution when traveling and stay aware of local conditions.   Town staff and public safety officials are monitoring the situation and will provide updates  as needed.  The State of Emergency will remain in place until rescinded.

New Town Manager announced

At a special meeting on Wednesday night, the Elizabethtown Town Council voted unanimously to hire Mr. Dane Rideout, Town Manager of Bluefield, West Virginia.

The Mayor and Town Council feel fortunate to find someone of his experience and background. We look forward to a great future together.

Mr. Rideout will be replacing Mr. Eddie Madden, who will be leaving to take the job of County Manager in Columbus County.
