The Town of Elizabethtown is currently seeking candidates for the position of Water Utilities Technician.

Responsibilities include:

Assist in all phases of the operation, maintenance and regulatory compliance of the Elizabethtown, NC Water Treatment and Distribution System (WTDS)

Assist as assigned with project progress reports associated with tracking the overall rehabilitation of the WTDS, Wastewater Conveyance or Stormwater Management

Perform routine preventative maintenance on all equipment throughout the system and construction related equipment as assigned by the Water Utilities Manager

Assist in maintaining an inventory of parts and equipment necessary to progress on the rehabilitation of the WTDS, Wastewater Conveyance or Stormwater Management

Ability to learn the operation and daily maintenance of concrete saws, ground penetrating radar, compaction equipment and other small engine equipment

Ability to learn the operation and daily maintenance of small to mid-sized construction equipment when requested by management

Participate in the performance of service connection and disconnection as needed or as directed by water manager or Town Hall.

Participate in support and/or recovery efforts of the WTDS, wastewater and stormwater conveyance in the event of any emergencies

All other tasks as assigned by the Water Utilities Manager.
