Captain Allston Freeman Named Elizabethtown’s Employee of the Year
Several employees of the Town of Elizabethtown were celebrated at the 2024 Employee Appreciation luncheon on Friday, December 6 at the Cape Fear Winery.
Allston Freeman, a Captain with the Elizabethtown Fire Department, was named the Town’s 2024 Employee of the Year. Captain Freeman was recognized for his contributions to the Fire Department and the community. Freeman has over 14 years in Fire Service.
“Despite facing medical issues this year, Captain Freeman remained steadfast in his dedication to the fire service”, Town Manager Dane Rideout said, citing that the Captain sets an example of perseverance to others by “showing that true professionalism extends beyond physical ability and includes mental fortitude and determination.”
“One of the key aspects of Captain Freeman’s work is his consistent willingness to assist in all situations, whether it be a traffic crash, a medical emergency, or a fire,” Rideout added. “His proactive approach ensures that not only are the immediate needs of those affected met, but his team can function more effectively and safely.”
