Former District Magistrate and Police Chief Join Elizabethtown Town Council
Elizabethtown Business Owner Robert “Bobby” Kinlaw was appointed to the Town Council of Elizabethtown at the Monthly Council Meeting on February 3, 2025.
After being sworn in by Bladen County Clerk of Superior Courts Cristin Hursey, Mayor Sylvia Campbell welcomed Kinlaw, stating, “Bobby loves Elizabethtown and our residents love Bobby”. The Mayor also noted Kinlaw’s long service to the community with 15 years as the Elizabethtown Chief of Police, 6 years as Magistrate for the North Carolina Department of Justice, and Chairman of the Elizabethtown Planning Board for 9 years.
Kinlaw will fulfill the remainder of the Council Term formerly held by Howell Clark.
Kinlaw and husband, JD, own Joseph D Salon on West Broad Street.
