Public Notice: State of Emergency In Effect -  Town Of Elizabethtown  News Release January 30-2026    The Town of Elizabethtown has declared a State of Emergency effective January 30th,  2026 at 5 PM due to winter weather conditions.   This declaration helps the Town coordinate resources and respond as needed to changing conditions.  Residents are encouraged to use caution when traveling and stay aware of local conditions.   Town staff and public safety officials are monitoring the situation and will provide updates  as needed.  The State of Emergency will remain in place until rescinded.

Safe Streets for All (SS4A) creates a Safety Action Plan that identifies areas of transportation-related safety concern, develops and prioritizes projects to address those areas of concern, and will be used in the future to pursue federal grant monies. The Town of Elizabethtown received a grant from the US Department of Transportation in 2023 to develop the plan.

CTL Engineering and AECOM are the consultants on this project.

Oct. 17, 2024 - Steering Committee Meeting #1 - completed

Oct. 24, 2024 - Public Meeting #1: Residents and businesses had the opportunity to identify areas of concern during a public forum and through an online survey.

Nov. 14, 2024 - Steering Committee Meeting #2 - completed

Nov. 20, 2024 - Road Safety Audit: Consultants, DOT representatives, and residents toured the study area to identify areas of concern.

Dec. 12, 2024 - Public Meeting #2: The public viewed a presentation of the areas identified as safety concerns, the seven major transportation corridors, and the proposed safety countermeasures. After the presentation, the public asked questions and provided input on proposed safety countermeasures and project corridor prioritization.
