Code Red Alert:: The Bladen County Forestry Service has issued the following statement, due to hazardous forest fire conditions a ban on open burning has been put in place effective November 29th at 5:00pm and shall remain in effect until further notice. Kidde Recalls Fire Extinguishers with Plastic Handles Due To Failure to Discharge and Nozzle Detachment: One Death Reported

The Elizabethtown Fire Department would like to announce the recall of the Kidde fire extinguishers. This is a large recall with over 30 million fire extinguishers in the recall. There has already been one death due to the failure of the device.If you have one of the Kidde fire extinguishers with plastic handles call the toll free number: 855-271-0771.

Hazard:

The fire extinguishers can become clogged or require excessive force to discharge and can fail to activate during a fire emergency.In addition, the nozzle can detach with enough force to pose an impact hazard.
