Public Notice: Christmas Closing and Trash Schedule: In observance of Christmas, the Town offices will be closed from Tuesday, December 24th, through Friday, December 27. They will reopen on Monday, December 30.  TRASH SCHEDULE: Wednesday trash will be picked up on Thursday, Dec. 26. Thursday trash will be picked up on Friday, December 27 and Friday trash will be picked up on Saturday, December 28.

PUBLIC HEARING ON JULY 1, 2024

 

This is notice to the public that the Elizabethtown Town Council will be conducting a Public Hearing on Monday, July 1, 2024 at 7 p.m. in the Elizabethtown Municipal Building located at 805 W. Broad Street. Pursuant to NCGS 160A-278, the Town of Elizabethtown will be entering into a Ground Lease Agreement for the Live Work Play Housing Project at the Elizabethtown Industrial Park and the following information is provided:

Description of Property to be Leased: Located at the intersection of Aviation Parkway and Executive Drive, in Elizabethtown, Bladen County, NC, and being a portion of the following tracts:

  1. That 32.96 acre tract shown on that plat recorded in Plat Cabinet C088 at Page 870, Bladen County Registry, and further described in deed recorded in Book 794 at Page 334, Bladen County Registry and 2. That 101.39 acre tract shown on that plat recorded in Book C107 at Page 1061, Bladen County Registry, and further described in deed recorded in Book 813 at Page 460, Bladen County Registry; said premises totaling 77.55 acres, more or less.

The Assessed Value of the Property: $85,474.00

Proposed Consideration for the Lease is as follows: Provision of work force housing; sales and personal property tax revenue generated from residential housing and from other businesses/facilities located on the Live Work Play campus; monthly water and sewer revenues; ad valorem town property taxes and/or an equivalent sum paid as an annual lease payment.

Council’s Intention to Authorize the Lease: It is Town Council’s Intent to Authorize the Lease at the July 1, 2024 Regular Town Council Meeting.
