NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS

Proposed Text Amendment Requests, Town of Elizabethtown, North Carolina.  Pursuant to NCGS 160D-601(a), the Town of Elizabethtown will conduct two public hearings on Thursday, August 27, 2026 in a Special Called Meeting at 6:00 p.m. in the Elizabethtown Municipal Building.  Town Council will consider the following:

Request:         To increase the permissible frontage wall signage area – Zoning Ordinance Code SECTION 10.25 DISTRICT SIGNS, Table of Business Sign Requirements, District C-1/C-2.

Petitioner:     Town of Elizabethtown

Case #:           TA # 2026-51

Request:         Retail Sales & Service, Grocery/Food store to be included as a Permitted Use in

                         C-2 Zoning District – Zoning Ordinance Code SECTION 6.6 – TABLE OF USES

  AND ACTIVITIES.

 

All interested citizens are invited to attend these hearings and present comments on the above petitions.  Citizens desiring to speak are required to place their name on the sign-up sheets before agenda adoption.  Changes may be made in the advertised proposals that reflect information presented at the hearings.  Those who wish to view a copy of the text amendment applications may do so by contacting Planning Director Nick West at (910) 862-2066.
