TORY HOLE PARK CLOSED DURING US 701 BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION IN MAY
The Town of Elizabethtown has announced that Tory Hole Park will be closed during the NCDOT construction of the US 701 bridge during May.
NC DOT announced last week that the US 701 bridge will be closed for one hour twice daily during weekdays in May. The closures are necessary so that a large crane can lift girders into place on the new bridge.
According to town officials, the crane will be located on the Tory Hole side of the bridge. The town’s decision to close the park is a matter of safety concerns and once this phase of bridge construction is completed, the park will re-open.
